[2/6] Lander will be the first biologist to serve in the role, which historically has most often been held by physicists, and Biden has elevated it to be a cabinet level-position.

[4/6] Alondra Nelson ( @alondra), president of the Social Science Research Council, will serve as OSTP's deputy director for "science and society," and OSTP's chief of staff will be Kei Koizumi ( @Keiindc), who worked in the office for the duration of the Obama administration.
[5/6] Chemist Frances Arnold ( @francesarnold) and planetary scientist Maria Zuber ( @maria_zuber) will co-chair the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, an external advisory group.
[6/6] Biden also announced today that he will retain Francis Collins as @NIH director, a role he was first appointed to by President Obama in 2009.
