THREAD: How much vaccine can the U.S. expect to have available over the course of 2021?

Pfizer and Biontech have pledged to deliver 200 million doses, enough for 100 million people, by July 31. 1/

Moderna expects 100 million doses by end of first quarter 2021, another 100 million doses by June 30. At 2 doses per person, that's 100 million people total also. 2/

J&J vaccine not yet approved for emergency use. It is a one-shot vaccine per person that is stable in a refrigerator.

J&J pledged 12 million doses by end of February, 100 million doses by end of June. However, J&J is behind on production. 3/ https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/13/health/covid-vaccine-johnson-johnson.html

So assuming J&J gets emergency approval, we should have enough vaccine for everyone produced by mid-year, although my guess is we need the remainder of the year to get it all distributed.

It's unclear to me what capacity these firms have beyond mid-year. 4/End
