Some more thoughts on Canal and River Trust’s statement. Yes, essential dam repairs must take place. Flood management is part of remit. Yes, pandemic makes staffing problematic but that said, we are looking at years of neglect here. 1/4

Blaming public for worsening onshore litter problem - and adding new initiatives - diverts attention from CRT’s responsibility to reservoir, especially long-term offshore surface debris (tyres, wheelie bins, traffic cones, plastic chairs), chronic silt. 3/4
The Canal and River Trust has - as they say themselves - ‘a statutory duty as custodians of the waterways’ to look after Welsh Harp. Needs fixing. 4/4
