ok, I listened to Substack co-founder Chris Best on this podcast so you don't have to.
No problem for me with any of this.
In very carefully chosen words, Best pushes back on a number of things:
-Yes, Trump ban justified
-AWS pulling servers is a concern

Full disclosure: we run our site on Substack and have personally met 2-3 times with Best and the rest of the team. I liked them, and we've been happy with our Substack experience.
I lean left and was critical enough to explore leaving. But there's nothing horrid in here.

In general, Best is being a good corporate representative imo. He says he supports the Trump ban, gets Ingram to admit that there should be limits to what people say and what platforms allow.
Kelly of course, disagrees. Saying Trump's banned tweets fall "well short."

One of the funnier exchanges: Best asks Kelly asked directly what would be a reasonable cause for ban says "child porn."
That's her full list apparently.

Best comes on around the 57 minute mark.
"Definitely concerning seeing AWS pull servers- especially for people lower down in the tech tree"
"We worry about this stuff in general."
Goes on to discuss AWS as a "utility"

Best toes the line, but is pretty clear that Substack isn't going to be a place that's a haven for the Trump mob
"There's never going to be a world where we can promise that we won't shut you down"
But carefully avoids obvious criticism. Clearly selling Substack as an option

Closes with some carefully cut criticism of the entire talking point of Ingram's pod.
" just have a platform with some sort of objective rules for moderation. Laughs about the idea that Trump's twitter account was "reasonable"

It's fine. He's on after the Parler guy, and is friendly, but firmly draws lines and makes clarifications.
As a super lefty leftist, I think this is all fine. Ideally, we WANT to be in a place where people talk to each other.
Also, never make me listen to this podcast again!
