Here's a really good example of how deep the antisemitic code goes, and how easy it can be to miss: "rootless elites."

It's a reference to Jewish folks being a diasporic people (due to persecution), which has long been cited as a reason to distrust them. https://twitter.com/areidross/status/1350168367844319233
It's a lot like the banker tropes-- Europeans Christians pretty much banned Jews from nearly all trades but allowed them to operate in banking because usury rules prevented Christians from doing so.

And then cited their "usury" as proof they were evil.
Europeans tortured, massacred, and exiled European Jews, making it nearly impossible for them to securely establish themselves geographically in large swaths of Europe.

Then they used the resulting diasporas to "prove" that Jews were shifty, untrustworthy, outside.

"Rootless."
And, not to put too fine a point on it, but leftists talk of capitalistic elites and compromised journos can very easily be compromised and used as a vehicle for tropes of "globalist" (read: Jewish) bankers and lugenpresse.
That's why class reductionism is so toxic.

If we don't admit that these tropes and agendas exist (and craft our words carefully to guard against them) our words as can easily be appropriated as vehicles for them.
And if we don't acknowledge that these oppression exist and are dangerous, we fail to understand the weight of the matter and the ubiquity of these issues.

And then we actually can end up internalizing and spouting them.
Who knows whether Glenn has the self-awareness to understand what he's doing when he does this shit, but he's complicit af.

I don't care whether it's ignorance, arrogance, or knowing winking on his part.

The impact is still the same and it is real and ugly.
