Over the last couple of years I have wondered where the new owners would come from in #NASCAR. The truth is the top owners were getting older and their time is coming to an end. Sure family or some like Tim Cindric could take over but truth is new blood was needed. 1/X
Some drivers are assumed to own teams at some point & some already do in the truck and Xfinity levels. However it is clear other than 1 or 2 drivers without major partners from outside racing or ones already major players within it is impossible to do alone at the Cup level. 2/X
So to see athletes from other areas, actors, musicians etc step into the role now is exciting however we have seen people attempt it before. Let’s hope this time they don’t get bored or impatient with losses to start or whatever. The sport needs this. Even without 3/X
Fans at the track the new sponsors and commercial revenue etc will be big. The one thing I wish they would fix is with the influence of teams that can be competitive at all levels is the entry size. Certain tracks go back to allowing 43 cars. Then at the smaller ones use the 4/X
Points system for a 40 car field if needed. Tired of seeing potentially competitive trucks and cars go home because of limited field at a track that would hold every car that showed up. So fix that. I get it at say Bristol or Martinsville. But road courses or Daytona eh.
