Firstly, I’m not saying you shouldn’t feel lonely. Lockdown is terrible. I am lucky at the minute with the girl and Sidekick and pets. But.... all over the UK are women who are much, much lonelier and yet yearn to be alone. These women have just heard the
door close again. He’s there. Or he never leaves. He’s always there. These women retreat into their heads and dream of being alone. Safe. Not with him. Their hearts ache for a safe place he cannot enter. Where they can sit quietly with their dreams and their pain.
They have few friends now. No connections to family left. No one who cares. They feel abandoned by the world. They feel they don’t deserve this life- but he tells them they do. They think they would rather be dead sometimes. But there is a glimmer of something keeping them here.
It is the hope. That someone will come for them. Or he will die. Some magic might happen. Honestly - those women are so lost their dreams are made of all sorts of things. Their nightmare is with them always. It is a special hell.
It is worse than the fear of Covid or the loss of a night out with friends. It is nightly rape. It is being called names that cut like barbs into your skin. It is beating where you don’t cry so your children don’t hear. It is humiliation and degradation in a hundred variations.
Asking for Annie is not going to help women tonight. They are far from a chemist. They are chained to an abuser physically and mentally. If they can get to the phone ever they need a women’s service. They need a room. They need so many things that we all take for granted.
Govt have given them a back slapping campaign. It’s unbearable to watch. If you aren’t lonely. Donate to your local women’s service. Make sure there’s someone there for women if they ever get chance to #askforani ....because the Tories won’t fund it. Women. Add your service below
My two suggestions of outstanding women’s services are @nia_endingVAWG and @AuroraNewDawn because their CEOs are going above and beyond and are proper Radfems with love of women driving them at times they feel overwhelmed ..... please donate. Help a woman out.
