This will be a thread about LEGENDBORN by @tracydeonn.

Let me begin with my book journal entry about it.

I usually write a lot more.
Every element of LEGENDBORN is off the charts.

The brilliantly twisty plot, the complex characters and relationships, the emotional resonance and depth, the voice, the writing-THE. WRITING.

(One scene is set *in a Waffle House* and I had to reread it just for the descriptions.)
The magic in LEGENDBORN is like nothing I've ever read.

It's impossibly intricate without feeling a bit contrived, and the multiple, meaningful perspectives on magic and how it's used just blew me away.
LEGENDBORN takes on a mountainous task in knitting together Arthurian legend (in all its white Eurocentrism) and the ugliness of racism, past and present. Deonn not only rises to this task but conquers it. She puts all of it on the story's shoulders and hefts it high.
I have never read a book that I can think of comparing with LEGENDBORN.

With all respect to author @tracydeonn and all the work she clearly poured into this book, LEGENDBORN just does not feel *written*. It feels, well, born. It feels like it burst into existence.
All this to say, folks, read LEGENDBORN. Please read it.
