Wanted to share a recent conversation I had with a patient about the #COVID19 vaccine.
Me: (as we're wrapping up the visit) So what are your plans about the COVID vaccine?
Pt: Oh.... I think.... it's just not for me.
Me: Oh? Mind me asking why?

Pt: You know, with my skin condition and my autoimmune stuff, I'm just worried about having a reaction.
Me: Yeah, totally. I get it. For what it's worth, the only thing we really worry about is P. glycol, which you're not allergic to.
Pt: Yeah, I just don't think I'm ready.

Me: True, true..... Although, your other medical conditions are what make me nervous about you getting COVID.

Me: I hear you.

Me: Yup! Couldn't wait to get it!
Pt: How was it?
Me: My arm hurt for a couple days, and I felt a little tired and took a long nap, but was back to normal on day 3!

The patient left without a commitment, but I figured they just needed a little space and hopefully they'd come around.
