I ended up in a production/tech rabbit hole re @BTS_twt concerts last night. This post Love Yourself/Speak Yourself tour production summary had interesting facts/details🤓
- Jamsil Olympic Stadium: “no group has ever performed five concerts in this venue”+
https://www.livedesignonline.com/concerts/bts-wrap-record-setting-14-month-world-tour https://twitter.com/renkiger/status/1349968410705240072
- LY Tour: “[after] wrapping up Wings World Tour..everyone quickly got to work on the new Love Yourself albm cycle. The challenge was to create a show that cld open the tour in an 80,000 cap stadium & then move to arenas less than 2 wks later”
- “Moving frm the 1st stadium to an+
“arena was a challenge as the only equipment that was the same was some of the bespoke scenic elements. All vendors changed frm Korea to US as did many of the lighting & video products”
- “The show then moved into the stadium expansion. The promoter switched frmAEG to LiveNation+
It was HUGE!
-“The tour set the record for the largest deployment of RoboSpots..enabled operators to control lighting from safety of the ground
- Stationed in the air were 439 fixtures supported by over 1000 feet of truss + 225 on the ground, totaling over 664 lighting fixtures+
-“The massive data network contained 11 consoles w 24 switches & 22 nodes all working together for 132 universes”
- “those who were lucky enough to attend this groundbreaking tour [it] rly was an outstanding production not only for its scope but also for its continuity of design”
- Speak Yourself extension of the stadium tour: “The AR component was seemingly small, but it was a milestone for live concerts”
- AR development took MONTHS
- “We knew from the start this was no easy task to implement AR technology on a touring show”
- “Over the 14-month run, everyone involved was willing to take a lot of risks to continually push the boundaries of live entertainment to elevate the meteoric success of BTS” 🙌
I miss BTS concerts🥺
Looking forward concerts again & seeing BTS push the industry even further🔥
Reminds me of when @BTS_twt Speak Yourself tour arrived in Brazil and how during the SY tour we learned a tiny bit about the logistics involved. 4 Boeing 747 cargo planes to transfer 375 TONS of sound and lighting equipment, 40 big rig truck.

The amount of WORK that goes into +
planning then executing tours, on the scale @BTS_twt do, is mind blowing.

One of many reasons you will never see or hear me ever complain about BTS ticket prices.
