Trump is like career kryptonite - anything Trump touches, dies.

The GOP made politically suicidal decisions that painted them into a corner, in the decades before Trump. When they noticed they had a cancer, they started smoking instead
During the President's first term - EVERY previous President appealed to the middle. This typically frustrates the extreme base, but it helps the incumbent President win re-election (which nearly always happened).

Trump did not. He ONLY appealed to his base
Because Trump ONLY appealed to his base, and did not even TRY to work the middle - it helped drive the big 2018 mid-term win (which DEMs would have won anyway, but Trump made that GOP loss far worse than it should have been).
As the DEMs picked up a TON of seats in 2018 mid-terms, that pushed out MOST of the MODERATE Republicans in the House. The proportion of Maganutters rapidly increased in House

Then Trump threatened GOP sitting Senators and House Reps. That if they did not side with Trump...
Trump threatened sitting elected Republicans - that if they did not side with Trump, he would PRIMARY them - and then proceeded to do so. Not always succeeding but enough, that almost all in GOP now FEAR Trump (not Romney, Liz Cheney, very few others)
Now the Frankenstein's Monster has truly turned against its master. If GOP don't 'agree' with Trump - he will turn on them.

That would not be so bad, if Trump was an honest true conservative. But Trump is a serial liar & career con artist
Donald Trump delivered over 24,000 lies into the public domain. This is LITERALLY a world record in lying.

And this career serial liar now BULLIES his Republicans to parrot those lies, else Trump will destroy their political careers.
It is 100% certain that THIS message by GOP - a party that supports a terrorist attack on Capitol Hill. A Republican President who sent a mob to HANG a Republican Vice President. A cop killer President - this message is untenable in future elections

Trumpism has to be weeded out
If the GOP had dealt with the Tea Party nutters by 2016 - expelled Gym Jordan and Ted Cruz etc - they would have lost maybe 10% of their support.

Today the MAJORITY of the House are maganutters. It means a SPLIT in the party - and worse... the GOP may not be left alive after it
There is a cancer that is GROWING inside the GOP. It is based on delusional conspiracy theory cultists who believe in a maga god.

It HAS to be cut out. there is no way for the GOP to EVERY heal, unless the cancer is removed
But because the GOP allowed Trump to be identified as the Republican President, he is VERY LIKELY the LAST such political entity. I believe the GOP is so poisoned, that when the conservatives are able to rid their party of maga nutters, they have to REBRAND
I am not predicting it (yet) but saying it is a DISTINCT possibliity that history books will show, Donald Trump was the last Republican President.

A sane conservative party (initially a very weak national party) will re-emerge. That is certain
A sane conservative party will not deny climate change
A sane conservative party will not dictate female choices (abortion)
A sane conservative party is SO inclusive, black & Hispanic voters will feel a STRONG pull to it
A sane conservative party will not cause shame with youth
A sane conservative party will NOT accept racists or sexists
A sane conservative party will stand STRONGLY in SUPPORT of a free press

Maga nutters will hate the sane conservative party MORE than they hate Obama, Hillary, Pelosi or the DEMs
It is likely that the split in the GOP results in 3 parties for America. The Ted Cruz led Maganutters become the Patriot Party with a platform to free the martyr Trump family from its Deep State prisons.

And they'll have maybe 10%-20% of the seats in Congress & a few Senators
The longer the GOP waits in expelling the Tea Party / Freedom Caucus / Maga Nutter / Domestic Terrorists - the more it will hurt. Mitch knows this. Which is why he will drive Trump to be convicted and then forbidden from running for office..
But THAT is not enough. When will we see the GOP expelling Ted Cruz and others? Then we will see the START of the healing process
