Given the reality of white supremicist militias and the terrorist threat they represent, I have a suggestion for @SpeakerPelosi and @SenSchumer — “The Well-Regulated Militia Act”

Using the prescription of the Second Amendment, that its purpose was a well-regulated militia, define civilian militias as any armed group of three or more people, and require such groups to register membership with their state government and accept state authority.

Any armed group, formal or informal (gun club, militia, hunting party, whatever) that refuses to register membership with its state government would be identified as an illegal terrorist organization and its members subject to arrest and prosecution for #sedition.

Using the language of the Second Amendment to describe the goal and legislative purpose of the Well-Regulated Militia Act should make it impervious to attack under the Second Amendment.

Unregulated armed militias and similar groups are the most direct threat to our internal national security, as numerous studies and the @FBI agree. This would curtail their growth and provide a tool for law enforcement to root them out before violence erupts.
