The cool guy stalks and terrorizes psychologically for months one activist. Most of the movement just sits on their asses and does nothing, because he is a cool guy.

It takes almost a year of conflict escalation by some activists to bring the topic at all to the level of the leftist scene and discussion of the issue. But the guy is still cool.

The guy joins local antifa gym and becomes even cooler. He knows how to punch a nazi in the face. Meanwhile his victim decides to move out of the city. The guy is now even cooler.

The guy is invited to the collective organizing security for the events to protect against nazis. Now he is the coolest because he is saving us from the dresden nazis (separate story can be written on that)

The guy is now working with the local organized antifa. The group doesn't want to actually deal with the situation because the guy is cool and repressions are bad.

The cool guy is still in the movement. Local antifa keeps complaining every time somebody raises an issue with them having a fucking assholes in their ranks. He is cool, creating problems for cool guys is not cool.

An example where community accountability is not going to work at all due to the fact that a big group of people accepts such behavior and doesn't find it problematic.

Clearly defining what is acceptable is not a complicated issue. However it becomes to turn into one when the problematic person is getting some influence in the political circles.

I do know that i've lost at least 1 very active comrade in this story - Dresden was too much for her not because of the nazis or the political issues rather the leftist and antifascist circles.
