It being Venus day and all, I wanted to make a tweet more geared toward non-astrologers, or new astrologers. I see people interested in "synastry" readings from time to time, and I think it's infrequently mentioned why many *don't provide this service:
If some one asks me about their "synastry" with some one else (within a romantic relationship context), the dilemma I have is that a truly comprehensive foretelling of any relationship, or the compatibility between two people, can be approached in such a myriad of ways -
Chart overlays and placement dynamics can definitely speak to how to people communicate, generally get alone or don't, potentially shared relating/romantic/intimacy styles/preferences. But honestly, I think most people want to know "are we 'right' for eachother" and for me,
I'm more inclined to look at the themes around you and relationships in general in your chart....and possibly at what's going on in a partner's chart if they're consenting. There's a lot more utility in deeply understanding your own habits in relationships, tendencies -
attractions, aversions, etc. because when you have much deeper self-awareness of your inclinations, needs for emotional security, intellectual engagement, pleasure, and desire - you're simply more apt to find and *expect more fulfilling partners.
So I'm not trying to downplay synastry, but get a good analysis of your 7h ruler and 7h placements, mars and venus, the moon, etc. in your own chart and you'll be able to "know" when you've encountered what right for you, or in alignment with the natal promise in your chart
