Short Thread

So your Toyota (YES, ONLY TOYOTA) squeals like a pig when you start it in the morning and squeals even worse when you're taking her home after work

Embarrassing I know but you're not letting it go anytime soon, too reliable you say.
So how do you fix the squeel
Be at ease Inasmuch as it came through the Port of Mombasa, and alot has been happening around those sea waters you'll be glad to know its not Mashetani.

It's simple to fix and I'll walk you through

It boils down to 3 fixable causes
1. LOOSE BELTS

Toyota, unlike most manufacturers doing metal chain drives (like bike chains), have stuck to rubber belts

Rubber belts corrode and stretch over time hence become longer than they were initially leading to slippage hence squeals and banshee behaviour
2. LOOSE BELT

Like 1st problem, belts have tensioners that keep them taught. If they unwind or the belt inadvertently elongates over time it needs to be tightened

Catch is, when tightening you might increase stress and likewise cause belt failure; WHICH WILL STRAND YOU

CHANGE
3. MISALIGNED COMPONENTS

If the car recently had an accident that messed with the engines internals they might cause squeals
