My Twitter journey this week has been an epic road trip rather than a dash down the Whitemud #yeg.
Here are my 7 lessons learnt in 7 days #EXSM5510 #learningjourney #Twitternewbie:
Lesson #1: Writing for Twitter is fun! As a writer by trade, I expected the limitations and type of dialogue to be stifling. Instead, I found it to be dynamic, spontaneous and engaging. đŸ’»đŸ’ĄđŸŽ†
Lesson #2: Timing Tweets is hard. How do I know when the audience I want to engage with is on? Insight from @TicoRomao on timing and scheduling was invaluable!!
Lesson #3: Real and meaningful connections can be made to both people and places #yeg. Celebrity and portrait photographer @chrisfloyduk captured this in his portrait project based on his Twitter friendships: https://100fortycharacters.wordpress.com/
Lesson #4: Pausing before you Tweet is wise 😂😳 #thinkbeforeyoutweet
Lesson #5: Consistency is more important than frequency. The more I nail down when my target audience is on, I more can engage strategically rather than randomly.
Lesson #7: Twitter is shaping our lives. Important opinion, information and disinformation circulate furiously here and it is helping to determine our present and future. History may crown this time the #twitter20s. #bepartofsomethingbig
