Here’s how this works: the gov gives out student loans without regard to the value of the degree sought, because “everyone should go to college.” Colleges get the fat payout and cackle while they increase prices. Students get more debt. Those w/o degrees get fewer jobs.
Here’s how student loans result in more and more jobs slapping a bogus “bachelor’s required” at the bottom of their ad when no degree was required before:
Did you get that last bit? After a half-century of student loan programs meant to help those of less means catapult themselves ahead in life via college, they make up a SMALLER percentage of college students than they did before we did anything to “help” them. Government success!
What did we get for our money instead? “... the student loan boom has fueled 21M new square feet of construction, 60 percent growth in administrative positions (10x the growth in tenured faculty), and, of course, sprawling diversity and critical theory departments.”
