Comparing the Capital insurrection to the BLM protests is disingenuous. BLM is all about racial inequity.
The real comparison should be between the Capital insurrection and the Women's March. The Women's March became a repudiation to trump being elected. /Thread

We were angry that Clinton "lost" the election so we marched. 65M people were disenfranchised. The Women's March was well over 500,000 people in DC, millions world wide. The difference? The Women's March was peaceful. No violence, no vandalism, no arrests
The violent Capital insurrection had approximately 10,000 rioters who stormed the Capital, committed acts of vandalism, beat police officers killing 1, chanting to "hang pence" and hunted down Speaker Pelosi and other representatives threatening to kill them.
Spot the difference. Clinton "lost" but we didn't storm the Capital/stop the peaceful transition of power by attempting to subvert democracy and stop the certification of the election. Democratic representatives didn't insist for weeks on end that the election was "rigged"
We accepted the loss even though we knew (which has been confirmed by the CI community) that there was interference.
trump and his enablers tried over 60 times to overturn the election. He won't conceded and has led his followers to believe that the election was rigged.

Comparing the insurrection to BLM is an apples to oranges comparison. Do an apples to apples & you can see clearly that trump supporters are violent &, despite their insistence, do not support democracy *or* the police . @HouseDemocrats . @SenateDems time to control the narrative
The BLM protests were widely peaceful during the summer. Peaceful protests were reported in over 2,400 districts across the country, w/ more 93% demonstrations related to movement not engaging in violence/destructive activity. RPT by Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project.
Finally - republicans want to disenfranchise the majority (81M Americans) and allow the minority (74M) to control the country. Note to . @SenateGOP . @HouseGOP - that's not how democracy works
Seeing as how it's MLK, Jr.'s birthday... (h/t @indictmentduck)
