Both @GovMikeDeWine and @senrobportman going out of their way to praise Trump on the coronavirus vaccine during this ORP meeting. About 25 mins into executive committee meeting and zero mention of the Capitol riot.
And just like that @senrobportman brings them up. Calls them shameful and actually says to the ORP Executive Committee that Trump shares blame in the riots.
Portman also telling the executive committee that now is not the time to protest results anymore and Biden clearly won: “Instead of protesting the results from the November election, let’s focus on winning elections around the country.”
Portman: "The 2020 election was not a repudiation of Republicans or Republican policies."
Interesting dynamic going on here with Portman's speech where he's both offering praise to Trump but making a soft case for the Republican Party to not remain beholden to him. Says when the focus is on Republican polices, GOP wins.
