This is the extent to which I’m willing to engage in minimum wage discourse today. It’s been 12 years since there was any increase in the federal wage.
If businesses can’t afford a stepped series of increases at this point, they will never be able to and you should just admit that capitalism has failed and we need to try something else.
Businesses aren’t dying because of wages rn; they’re dying because of a complete abdication of pandemic response which, in part, includes wages. I mean, fuck, extending PPP like programs would obviate any issue if it’s a genuine concern.
“Oh well then I guess it should be $35 in major cities huh.” Yeah. Good. Okay. It should also generally be higher given that FF15 itself is coming up on a decade old and most metro areas have become even more unaffordable during that time.
