$CNCE: Anyone else think it's interesting the study they cite as proof-of-concept for d-serine is a single site n=29 Taiwan study that can largely be explained by baseline imbalance and return to the mean?
True, SANS looks good in this study. But the first author did another study in Taiwan n=65 pub in 2005 same dosing where d-serine was a complete fail vs placebo for PANSS, SANS-20 and SANS-17.
Schiz pts have a ~25% d-serine deficit vs normals, but we see ~2g/day increases d-serine serum levels 50x. I'm no brainologist but shouldn't the effect be more clear if you get to 40x normal d-serine levels?
