Now that ‘gender critical’ transphobes have established a foothold in rolling back rights for trans kids with the Bell v Tavistock case, they’re publicly declaring that they’re targeting 18-25 year old trans people next!
Here’s what to look out for...
Watch out for:
Trans-hostile media attacking orgs supporting trans people in their 20’s
Claims that young people’s brains aren’t “fully developed” until they’re 24
‘Gender critical’ parents of young adults one-sided stories
Using #autism as an excuse to not support...

Be alert to:
Trans-hostile lobbyists false narratives about “safeguarding”, “vulnerable adults”, & “experimentation”
Anti-trans crowdfunders targeting older trans teens & young adults
Transphobic journalists writing “opinion” columns pushing ‘gender critical’ propaganda...

What you can do...
Don’t share transphobic articles - If you need to reference, archive & share the link here: https://archive.is
Don’t give them extra exposure by repeating transphobic talking points. If you want to counter, post the positive without referencing them

What you can do to counter anti-trans narratives:
Expose the techniques transphobes use to attack trans people:
Emotive language
”Official” sounding platforms
Appealing to fear
Journalistic bias
Unqualified sources
Presenting themselves as victims/ silenced

More you can do to support young trans adults...
Tell & share positive stories from young trans adults
Share facts & resources from reputable sources
Challenge trans-hostile material in schools, businesses & professional spaces - Stop transphobes institutional capture

Most importantly:
Look after yourself
Practice self-care
Stay strong
You’re a superhero just for being trans-positive!
