I just wanna start this off by saying that this, again, is not an apology but rather an explanation. My goal here is not to gain sympathy but understanding.
I met Bilva in the voluntaryisthaven discord and, at first I didn't really like him. Over time, however, he did begin to grow on me. I viewed him as a little brother of sorts and although I was aware of some of his cringe takes-
-(race realism, ethno-homogeneity etc.) he seemed to be backing off of more extreme ideas. He seemed to genuinely be changing, which I noticed and tried to foster. Bilva was a 13 year old (at the time, he just turned 14).
He is no doubt going to be gullible and into edgy ideas. Who didn't have a cringe era when they were 13? I did. I was transphobic asf watching Ben Shapiro and the like. It took interacting with people with different points of view to change my mind.
It took interacting with people with different points of view to change my mind. But instead of actually caring about dismantling racism you guys push people further into radicalization. Social isolation is absolutely counter-productive in almost all cases.
Do you genuinely think that isolating this literal child is a positive step towards dismantling racism? Obviously not. You're only pushing someone who's already entrenched in cringe ideas (yes, Hoppe is cringe, sorry Bilva) into an echo chamber of undoubtedly worse ideas.
For example, I once saw Bilva comment something in favor of the idea that ethno-homogeneity was beneficial. It was on an old post so I questioned him directly (Exhibit A). This does not happen with complete isolation.
Which is partly why I'm glad Bilva is more active in servers like VH as opposed to, well, others. Also, my man posted a vid saying "hi, one of the og hoppeans of tiktok is here" or some shit I wasn't platforming anything you goofy mfs.
In conclusion, yall weird as hell and you. To those who reached out to me personally to genuinely try and understand, thank you. I appreciate you.
