I remember the first flat mate I shared a flat with my 1st year of staying off home in 2017.

[Thread....]
So I moved out of home in 2017, I was a young kid who grew up in the burbs and to me where I was going to move in which was Sunnyside Pretoria, I didn't feel safe to be staying there sharing because I was scared of all the stories I'd hear about sunnyside.
But I anyway moved into this flat where I was due to share that big room with someone, so I moved in and when I did, I stayed a week alone and the two girls moved in the following week (they are friends).
So I saw they only had bags of clothes but no bad, thought their bed was going to be delivered somewhere around that day.. I went out, when I came back, I found one of them sleeping on the floor while my bed was there empty. I asked her why she was sleeping on the floor..
She said "we don't ave a bed, we will buy one when we secure our first pay" that time it was just beginning of the month.
I said to her she and her friend could share a bed with me until they both secured a bed, the one girl who until today still thanks me then started..
Sharing food with me, when she buys food she'd come back with it and we all share and I'd do the same. All my monthly allowance would usually go towards sharing food with them.
Until one time she became financially well off and then bought a bachelor flat..
.. a flat where she wanted us to share with 2 other girls (her childhood friends). We moved out to that bachelor flat, I don't recall buying groceries with my allowance, she'd refuse me buying groceries because she felt I had done too much for her to can thank me..
She said I should stay in my own bedroom in that bachelor flat and pay what I was paying p.m when we were sharing 😭😭. I was literally living a rent free life. I remember she would randomly come back with clothes she'd bought me, took me to sun city one time...
Like I literally gained weight living with her. She was brought up by her grandmother since her parents passed on long ago, one day I went to visit her home where she's from to see her granny.. her granny thanked me a thousand times for looking after her grandchild when..
She had no bed to sleep on and shared my food with her and made her feel welcome.. I was just a student who was dependent on my parents then.
Today she sent me this 😭😭😭😭
I almost chopped onions. Kindness goes a Loonngg way! It doesn't take anything from you but gives back to you at some point. Her grandmas blessings to me still paves ways for me up until this day.
Even when I'm so broke, I can never sleep in a hungry stomach because I have fed someone before out of an act of kindness, today I just get random people sending me money and at EXACTLY the time when I need it the MOST!!
Giving
Kindness
Love
Faithfulness
Loyalty
Respect

All these go a LONG way. Practice the above ❤

I have A LOT to say about what her friend did to me but I'll share in one day.
