When it comes to Christians interacting with Critical Theory, having a basis of understanding is important. However, it is less important one engage with scholarly works to point out all the nuances than it is to deal with the ideas in play, on the ground & widespread. /1

Even the imbibers & regurgitators generally can’t tell you about the scholarship basis while also spewing the ideas. We don’t need a PhD & pages of bibliography to deal with what people are actually saying especially with ideas that have gone mainstream. /2

What matters most is evaluating the ideas through the lens of Scripture not the ability to recite all the intricate mechanisms of Critical Theory. Where ideas contradict Scripture, we must refute. /3
