Two weeks of teaching on Teams makes me by no means an expert, however here’s what I’ve found so far in case it helps anyone else
All of this will be obvious to most people probably, but it might help someone!!!

If you aren’t already using class notebook - do it!! You can watch them type live, keep all their work in one place and track engagement. Mine treat theirs like their exercise book. They start a new page for each day.
The teacher only section on Class Notebook is where I’ve started planning my lessons. I just start a new page and put all of the students work on there. I always make a separate page for whatever it is that we are reading that day, so that they have a copy of that too.
I always make a Powerpoint with the same instructions on though, just in case someone’s class notebook for whatever reason has some technical issues that day.
So today my Y7s did Skellig Chapter 6 and they had all of their work already preloaded into notebook, all they had to do was fill in the blanks.
You give everyone a copy by pressing class notebook > distribute page. This way, everyone has their work set up the same way.
I’ve found it’s easier to view Class Notebook by pressing the “open in browser” option- it syncs far quicker and avoids the lag after you’ve live marked - students can see it instantly.
All students that I teach now have access to this, including those on phones and ipads. It means I can track their engagement and keep all their work in one place
I’ve found I can read out all their answers too, avoiding the awkward silence of asking for answers
