I think we’ve got confused by “Live” lessons.... I’d say most parents when they say they want live lessons just mean they’d like their child to SEE their teacher on screen at the time of their usual lesson. But saying hello, explaining the work, setting tasks, using recorded
resources and then staying online to deal with issues- this is OK! 👍🏻
You won’t deliver your best teaching talking AT pupils for 60mins. You wouldn’t do this in the classroom,so why now?
That is not what “live” teaching should be. It’s too demanding on Teachers and pupils.
But I really don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect Teachers to be online and available to help their classes *in whatever way* at the time they would usually have their lesson. I’m talking more secondary here, so primary may be totally different!
