A presentation myself and @ScottA_Linforth prepared for a game scenario where we had to mid block in a 1352 against a 1433. We were given lots of information about each players. We had to design a session on MD-4 and include an 11 v 11 practice. [thread]
Initially we looked at the strengths and weaknesses of the players we had and the opposition.
We then mapped these out within the shape both teams played and looked for strong and weak areas of the pitch including key battles where the game may be won or lost
We used the analysis to come up with a game strategy and then looked at how we could develop individuals as well as units to ensure the strategy was successful. We planned to use this part of the session to give lots of tech detail and scaffold upwards.
Our intention in the lead in session was then to look at how we were going to win the game and score from the transitional moments considering the load the players require on MD-4 but also managing work to rest periods and as a sub focus work with our back 3.
We then looked at our setup in the 11 v 11 game and highlighted key pictures we considered the highest priority for our team to be successful but also considering the strengths/ weaknesses of each team in as much detail as possible.
Finally we look as our transition and summarised our work. We hope this is of interest to coaches and you can take something from it. If anyone wants to discuss or challenge our thinking my DM's are always open.
