This thread is with regards to those returning from South Africa through the Tlokweng border to Gaborone and my recount of the procedure.

Please note I am a citizen of the Republic of Botswana.

Ps: I was dropped off at the border so I "walked" with my luggage into Botswana.
In case anyone was unaware, two days prior I did my Covid test in South Africa and received my results the following day, a day before departure. I printed these out as they are required and carried them with me throughout the process.
At the South African side of the border, you will be asked to fill in a health questionnaire before going through to immigration. Fairly simply, it looked the same as the one you fill out upon entry. Please bring your own pen, we can't be sharing pens in a pandemic.
After this it's pretty straightforward with regards to immigration. They stamp your passport and then I walked through and the police just asked to very my passport stamp (the usual).
Once you get to the Botswana side however, even with your results from South Africa, you get tested for Covid again. You'll see the medical tent and you queue inside. It's a nasal swab only and the results are given out in 15 minutes. They'll give you a card with your results.
From here you go through to immigration. There will be like a booth inside. You'll get another form/questionnaire to fill in. Similar to the South African one. Once filled in the lady keeps it and you get scanned or a picture taken. I have no idea what that machine is đŸ€·đŸœâ€â™€ïž
You can now go through to get your passport stamped. You'll be asked for both results. Unless you have goods to declare, at the exit, your bags get searched (as usual) and then thats it.

It's simple but I was confused and asked a lot of questions so I hope this helps! 😊
