investigation was launched on the family after a distant relative of bud was accused of pretending to be his father during their move to Italy. Amad and his brother Hamed were both questioned which would be terrifying for the young boys at the time.
Youth Career ~ Amad signed his first youth contract just a few years after moving to Italy, joining Boca Barco in late 2014. Diallo attracted the attention of major Seria A clubs at a youth tournament, which ultimately let to him signing with Atalanta in 2015…
… where he really kicked off his football career. Amad continued throughout Atalanta’s famous youth system for the next 5 years, destroying Italy’s top young defences and catching the eye of a certain English club…
Diallo caught the eyes of teams all over Europe with a MOTM performance against Man City where he bagged a goal and an assist so secure the win
Professional Career ~ The youngster made his debut for Atalanta on the 27th of October 2019, coming off the bench in the 79th minute just to cause headlines with his excellent finish from outside the box, and becoming the first player born in 2002 to score in Italy’s top flight.
Fun Fact ~ Amad Traoré, legally changed his name to Amad Diallo mid 2020. He captioned an Instagram post “Don’t call me Traoré anymore”
Finally, signing for Manchester United ~ @ManUtd had eyes on him for years, but finally in the extended transfer window of 2020 @ManUtd agreed to sign him in January of 2021 for €40 million on a 5 year deal with the option of an extra year.
Role Models - Fellow Ivorian Eric Bailly and French speaker Paul Pogba will be senior players for young Amad to look up to as adjusting to a new language and culture is always difficult for young players. Amad was photographed at training and seemed to be getting on well.
