There is a brilliant thread (at end of my thread 🤪) which explains very well what I have been trying to say for months.

Please can I encourage you to read it

Why is it a false choice to think we have a choice between economy and Covid19?

2/5

The economy and a functioning healthcare system are interdependent.

If either fails (uncontrollably) the other is stuffed.

There isn’t an either /or choice. That path just doesn’t exist because:
3/5
A) You choose the economy over virus suppression you end up with uncontrolled economic decline - as seen in previous flu pandemics. (Mines/factories shut due to sickness)

With social media the effect on public confidence to venture out would be even worse
4/5

B) You choose virus suppression without propping up the economy through furlough etc and you end up with 12km long foodbank queues and an unemployment mountain to climb at the end, stifling any rapid recovery
5/5

The path to tread is a very narrow one and if you try to navigate it (as U.K. have) you are going to chop, change and tweak it as you go along.
