Dear Senator Hawley's Staff--

I'm sure you're loyal to your boss, but this man incited violence and you helped him. There is no "following orders" defense that will save you. You are part of this now.

And it is so much more serious than him simply "raising concerns."

Prior to November 3rd, Joshua had nothing to say about Pennsylvania's vote by mail legislation.

2/
In fact, Joshua didn't have squat to say about election integrity either.

3/
By November 4th, when it was apparent that Trump would likely lose the election, Joshua--as a sitting US Senator--started tweeting out that Michigan was hiding secrets from the public.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

4/
So Joshua started this fake call for election integrity--a call he'd never made before.

At first he threw the whole kitchen sink out there--BigTech, ballot harvesting, poll watchers, counting, etc.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

5/
On November 6th Joshua vowed to introduce a law on election integrity.

And then after introducing it--he cared so much about it he worked to get ZERO cosponsors and no committee hearing.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

6/
Hawley used those consultants to drive his anti-sex trafficking and opioid initiatives. It was all positioning for his Senate run. It's why he kept the correspondence on his personal device.

8/
My bet is that if officials investigated his correspondence, they'd find consultants urging Hawley to make "election integrity" his platform for his presidential run. Anti-corruption is a populist issue. Fighting for Trump gets you MAGA.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

9/
By November 7th, Joshua notes there are "allegations of fraud," with no evidence. No explanation. Just putting it out there.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

10/
November 10th.

Joshua is ready for election integrity--in all caps.

Using his newly filed bill to garner him press. Working harder to get the press than to pass the bill--which is the point. It's not about policy, it's about politicking.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

11/
Note that at this point, Joshua has not one verifiable piece of proof about any *actual* fraud that has taken place. Yet, he's obsessed with election integrity.

He calls the 2020 election a "debacle."

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

12/
November 12th --Two days later, the Department of Homeland Security comes out to say that the 2020 election was (contrary to what Hawley says) "the most secure in American history."

13/
December 1 - Despite the words of our nation's top election officials, Joshua marched ahead--concerned that Pennsylvania's state legislature violated its Constitution + that the PA Supreme Court's ruling on its own Constitution was wrong.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

14/
A week later the Supreme Court denied the request to intervene in Pennsylvania. Any lawyer could have predicted this. The Supreme Court doesn't overrule state supreme courts very often.

Joshua knew this and he did not care about the truth.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

15/
December 9 - Undeterred, Joshua encouraged Republican Attorneys General to file lawsuits against Pennsylvania--including Missouri's own Eric Schmitt.

16/
December 11th -- The Supreme Court rejects *another* attempt to overturn the election results. This time denying the Republican AGs case that Schmitt signed on to and that Hawley supported.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

17/
December 30--By the end of the month, Joshua issued a statement positioning himself as the champion of election integrity--being the voice of "millions of voters" objecting to the election "on their behalf."

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

18/
Hawley begins his statement trying to compare his objections--based on no evidence and 60+ court losses--to Democratic objections in 2004 and 2016.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

19/
In 2005, John Kerry conceded the day after the election. There was no doubt that President Bush was re-elected.

Objections were held not to overturn the election--but to discuss the rampant voter suppression of African Americans.

Senator Boxer did not question Bush's win.

20/
And he did that *despite* the US Senate Committee on Intelligence affirming Russia interfered in our election.

The defining characteristic here is that Democrats NEVER tried to overturn the elections in 2004 or 2016.

22/

https://www.intelligence.senate.gov/sites/default/files/documents/Report_Volume4.pdf
The defining characteristic is that Democrats did not refuse to concede. Hillary Clinton put the country first--something Trump has never done.

The defining characteristic is that Democrats made objections based on facts with the intent of improving democracy.

23/
But Joshua Hawley?

He literally says he's objecting because (i) Pennsylvania didn't follow its own laws--but as a US Senator from Missouri that is not in his jurisdiction.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the Flames.

24/
He says he's objecting because (ii) BigTech interfered--but offers no evidence.

He says he's objecting because (iii) there should be investigations--as a Senator he could make that happen *without* objecting at all. But he hasn't.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

25/
January 2nd--He takes his role of "sole defender" and "champion of MAGA" seriously and tells everyone "It's time to STAND UP."

Calling for action. Calling for revolt. Calling for confrontation.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

26/
January 2nd--When he recruits more soldiers to his cause, he's "glad" to have "more Senators joining the fight" on January 6th.

And the tweet he is retweeting *actually says* that these votes are in opposition to Biden's electoral victory.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

27/
Yes, that's right--he wanted people to join the "fight" against "accepting Biden's Electoral College win."

This was never merely an academic exercise on separation of powers issues under the Pennsylvanian Constitution.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

28/
January 4th--He goes on Fox News + says the winner of the presidency "depends on what happens on Wednesday."

When asked whether he's responsible for telling the truth--that Biden will be President--Hawley stutters.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

29/
January 4th--Later that evening a non-violent protest takes place outside of Hawley's home.

Hawley lies about the protest, saying people tried to pound open his door, vandalized his home, and threatened his family---none of this happened.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

30/
January 6th--Prior to the terror attack, Hawley continues his charade of being the people's champion for election integrity. He's looking forward to having his moment in the sun.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

31/
January 6th--While the insurrectionists sit outside of the Capitol, Joshua Hawley walks by and gives them a salute--showing support for their march to "Stop the Steal" that never happened.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

32/
January 7th--After five people have lost their lives, Joshua Hawley finally comes forward with a statement on the terrorist attack he incited--about another kind of loss--that of his book deal.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

33/
January 8th--Hawley ends his non-stop tweeting from his personal account + pokes his head out angry for being held accountable.

Hawley back peddles--insisting he only questioned about "the way elections were conducted" in Pennsylvania.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

34/
January 11th--While hiding from his constituents, Joshua Hawley visits his nest at Fox News--not to apologize--not to mourn the dead--not to finally tell the truth--but to complain about his book deal....again.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

35/
January 13th--Hawley continues to back peddle claiming that he simply voiced a concern and isn't responsible for the resulting violence.

He did not merely raise a concern--he inspired an army and they attacked our US Capitol.

Sowing doubt. Fanning the flames.

36/
And he continues to do it.

He continues to lie about Pennsylvania and that further legitimizes the violence at the Capitol.

He continues to put forward the lie that Democrats have done what he is doing.

He continues to sow doubt while fanning the flames.

37/
He wants to dehumanize democrats further while lifting his political MAGA capital higher.

He is an ongoing present danger and that is why he must be removed from the US Senate, investigated, and prosecuted for his previous 10 weeks of incitement built on baseless claims.

38/
He must face consequences for the sowing of doubt.

He must be held accountable for fanning the flames.

I promise you, he will rise again if you don't.

Next time he won't fall on his face, because next time his success won't be dependent upon Trump's competence.
