I was counting on nothing and will survive regardless. There are lots of people who are facing eviction, poverty, and hunger who will not. People will literally die from lack of money. People have lost everything in the last year. We have the power to save them.

When you give money to people who need money, they spend it. It goes right back into the economy and the rising tide lifts all boats. It lets people not take that risky high exposure job and shrinks the pandemic’s spread. There are no downsides to helicopter money right now.

People should not settle for the bare minimum at a time when there is no need to compromise and no demon turtle in the way of aid. We either want to help people survive or we don’t. And no one is stopping us from doing it.
