I was critical of this incident when it 1st came out and the only footage and angle we had was Blake walking away from cops and entering a vehicle. It was said he was on scene breaking up a fight between 2 women. What we learned in the interim: https://twitter.com/GMA/status/1349404541859540992
1. Blake was not there to break up a fight between 2 women, that was a lie.
2. He was currently violating a DV protection order where the petitioner was a woman he had sexually assaulted.
3. He had taken the keys of that woman's vehicle, a vehicle their children were in.
4. She called 911 reporting the fact Blake had stolen her keys and that he was violating the protection order.
5. Police arrived and attempted to arrest Blake, he fought them.
6. He was Tased multiple times in an attempt to subdue him, the Taser deployments were ineffective.
7. After fighting with/assaulting police, and being tased, he armed himself with a knife.
8. While armed he continually refused to abide by commands and then proceeded to attempt to enter a vehicle. A vehicle he was stealing, that had children in the backseat.
Jacob Blake is not a martyr. Jacob Blake is not a victim. He is not a hero. Jacob Blake is a serial domestic abuser and rapist.

I've heard it said and repeated multiple times that police are not judge, jury, or executioner. This is true, we are not.
The officers here are not serving that function. They are not hearing a case, they are not presenting or considering evidence in the safe confines of a courtroom, and they are not executing judgment. They are in a fight with a a man who has armed himself with a deadly weapon.
A man who has not only armed himself as such, but has already fought with police while withstanding multiple taser deployments, and is now attempting to flee in a stolen vehicle with children buckled in the backseat.
The Supreme Court has granted police the lawful latitude to use deadly force on a violent fleeing felon, if in good faith, the officer believes that person poses a significant threat of death or serious physical injury to the officer or others.
Blake is violent. He was violent w/police during their encounter & has a history of violence against the woman who called 911 on him. He raped her. A violent man armed himself with a deadly weapon & attempted to flee in a wouldbe stolen car, again I stress with children inside.
You can tell me till the cows come home and you're blue in the face that Blake would not harm his children. Ok, sure, but parents do, everyday. And even if unintentional, in his amped up, adrenaline rage filled state, what if he wrecks and kills the children? You, and I, get to
weigh these possibilities and could be scenarios behind the comfort of a keyboard. The officers on scene, who had just been assaulted, who were in a knockdown drag out donnybrook with and armed violent felon, are not afforded the same. They must act and decide. Not in the werks
and months leading up to a trial, not during the weeks and months of a trial. Not in the weeks and months of 20/20 or something that has been armchair quarterbacks to death. Seconds. They have seconds to deliberate what action they must take against a man they know to be violent.
Against a violent man who was just fighting them, is now armed, and is potentially kidnapping children and placing their lives in direct harm. Not months to decide, seconds. Not after the fact, but in the moment.
I leave you with this. Blake does not deserve this platform. He, again, is no victim. He, by his own actions, brought about his fate. A violent domestic abuser, a rapist, who was in violation of a DV protection order, who assaulted police and attempted to steal a car is no hero.
Painting him a victim, or martyr, delegitimizes true instances of police brutality or excessive force. There are actual instances to be angry and upset with. Blake's is not.
