"The first play in the playbook of American politics and the one against which no defense has yet proved adequate?
1. Rich white men convince not-rich white people that their enemies are Black and brown."
"If you continue to insist that these awful things, which we are forced to endure every few years, are not the America you know, perhaps that is because you do not know her as well as you thought."
'Begin listening to Black people. Get to know America better. Impeach this sacred opinion we hold of ourselves and remove the blinders from our eyes.'

Either, 1) wait for the time to be right for it to suddenly catch on, or 2) jam it in the law and force us to abide.

Call it a hunch, but 1's never worked. We'll try #2.

Accept you? Of course I do, why wouldn't I? Why wouldn't everybody? Well, some don't, so we need a law.
It got tiresome tiptoeing around it all the time. It's the fault of the greedy. They pit us against each other. When we buy into it, it's our fault. When we don't fix it, it's also our fault.

Let's fix it.
