I wonder how much of the church’s inability to recognize narcissism in leaders (and in ourselves) is due to the fear of us Christians engaging and getting involved in Psychology/Psychoanalysis because we have been told “all you need is The Bible and The Gospel”

That type of thinking - the thinking that keeps us away from the fact that God, in His common grace, has given us experts in certain fields to help us (similar to how medicine can help you) - has caused many children of God to suffer trauma and abuse by leaders and others

Not only that but it has caused some of us to go unchecked in our own narcissism so we end up damaging ppl ourselves. It turns out that now as the church is scratching the surface of this type of abuse (and many others) we see just how unequipped we really were.

Our brothers and sisters in Christ have been pointing this out for years by the way, others just have silenced, suppressed and dismissed them.
