A Star Studded Free Agent Class: Kenny Golladay Spotlight
(Thread 1)
We head into the 2021 offseason with one of the best WR classes to date, and today I’ll be breaking down WR Kenny Golladay. Let me know your thoughts as always!
Kenny Golladay has quietly found himself on the market, in a free agency that will host a multitude of WRs, Golladay will look to rejuvenate his career in what could be a very important 2021 for him.
Kenny Golladay only played 5 games in his contract year. He saw only 32 targets, but turning only 20 catches into 65.8 fantasy points, averaging 13.12 fantasy points in his 5 game stint this year.
2019 was a full season for Golladay, as he finished as WR9 on the season, averaging 15.4 fantasy points per game. He was a bonafide WR1 when healthy in Detroit, but a multitude of injuries kept in sideline in a crucial contract year.
Kenny Golladay has been one of the best pass catchers when on the field. Using his athletic profile and talent to help him put up big numbers in an offense that was below average in 2019. Here’s a look at his workout metrics coming out of college, where he excelled everywhere.
There’s nothing not to like in Kenny Golladay, but with a free agent class that contains Chris Godwin, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Allen Robinson, it might be harder for Golladay to find that big money deal he will want.
Injuries will be a concern for teams before signing Golladay, although he’s only missed 12 games in the last 3 years (11 this year.) Golladay brings a big presence for teams on the outside, and can make big plays down field when called upon.

There’s a few fits that intrigue me for Golladay, and of course I have an ideal landing spot based on fantasy purposes alone. I don’t see a world where Golladay pairs up with the likes of Rodgers or Watson, but a fit with a guy like Daniel Jones or Sam Darnold could be a fit.
My ideal landing spot: Giants.
I think it would be beneficial for both Golladay and Jones, as Golladay could prove to the world he can absolutely be a WR1, and Jones gets a much needed boost on the outside.
Daniel Jones has shown us some upside, even if it has been limited. Adding a alpha WR1 could provide a much needed boost for a Giants team that found itself just outside the playoff picture. It’s a match made in heaven, for both sides.
Kenny Golladay will be a hold this offseason. With the time to decide where to take his talents, you’ll see people start to buy his shares up quick. Golladay is going to put himself in the best situation to succeed, and when he does you’ll be glad to own him.

Kenny Golladay is one of my favorite WRs in football, and with the right moves this offseason he should find himself back into the top 15 of WRs.
