Hello to all the people who followed me today to learn more about women on the autism spectrum and stuff like that.
I tweet about it sometimes. I also don’t tweet about it sometimes.
Anyone have any questions I can try to answer up front?

I’ll also add, any answer I offer is me speaking on behalf of me.
The autism community is not monolithic and I dare not attempt to speak for them all.
Hashtag puzzle piece. *fart noise*

I personally began suspecting that my brain might be a touch different when I was about 4, was introduced to the idea that I might have Asperger’s Syndrome (DSM 4) when I was about 25, and officially evaluated and diagnosed ASD at 33 (DSM 5).
(Also, “DSM” = Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders — the 5th edition, or DSM 5 introduced autism as a “spectrum”, and rolled Asperger’s Syndrome up into “Autism Spectrum Disorder”.)
For what it is worth, the therapist who evaluated/diagnosed me felt that some of the nuances around Asperger’s descriptions were lost in that transition, and told me had she evaluated me a decade earlier, she would’ve gone with the Asperger’s Syndrome diagnosis.

Also feel free to ask the questions you may feel afraid to ask. The ones you feel might get you into trouble if you ask. I am open to this *at the moment*.
I will do my best to answer graciously and clearly. (And for myself and no one else.)
