Nicola Sturgeon rightly pointed out witnesses in the Salmond inquiry should not be sharing information with others.
Unfortunately it was in response to a question on why all the civil servants giving evidence received coaching from the same source.
But whatever.
I think now the time has come to get them all back in to ask exactly what the detail of this external consultant was and exactly what mock questions were tested.
If it turns out they were probing around a games set of questions and stick responses they should all be for the tin tack.
Perhaps a review of previous responses which are transcribed will reveal a pattern of language.
This is about as serious as it gets for a civil servant.
I’m sure the committee members would be interested if civil service witnesses were providing evidence to unknown others so they could prepare answers.
