'Gender dysphoria' pathologizes nonconformity—It's time to stop using the language of gender ideologists without air quotes.

To my knowledge, Jolie/Pitt's kid never branded herself "gender dysphoric." She's not "desisting." She's changed her style & growing up in a strange time.
Desister/Detrans is used for those who want to/did "transition" & changed their mind.

What's now pathologized as "gender dysphoria" was once just growing up gay or 'tomboy.' The ideology was put on Shiloh, but the family didn't buy into it. The parents just let her be a kid.
According to reviewers of my novel, a character, whose discomfort was loosely based on my own, was "gender dysphoric." Any # of lesbians, all the ones that I know, could’ve been branded this way. Seems John was used in the same way a lesbian like myself might go by Jay or Joey.
Lesbian insight often kicks things off & eventually gets sidelined, which is how we keep ending up with non-lesbians in the forefront, acting as "the expert" (on a world that's foreign to the majority), and the cycle continues.
So many parents have been open to understanding the lesbian perspective, and their kids have benefited.
There are a number of parents who have valued my voice & have been great allies.
This thread is for parents & anyone seeking an inside understanding of the current phenomenon.
Always be wary of those who "identify" into "lesbian." There is a fraction who use "lesbian" as a refuge house from past trauma or unspeakable abuse. Some just use it as a label, speaking over & 'for' lesbians, misrepresenting & misinterpreting our world, & endangering our youth.
As far as “boy” coming up in a google search, if this had really been the case, the internet would’ve exploded & everyone would've known about it. There are forums and influencers that have labelled her a "boy" who was "assigned female at birth," but this was just projection.
We should talk about this in the context of how creepy, influential & invasive the web is—a world that put this on a kid. Shiloh was never incorrectly female. Language that pathologizes nonconformity, only perpetuates the very misinterpretation that's led us to where we are now.
