As a background: In the early 20th century, Indian (now the whole sub-continent) Muslim political dev contained a pan-Islamic & especial solidarity with the Ottoman empire.

Three medical teams were sent during this time from the sun-continent.

One of the team was headed by Dr Muhtar Ahmed Ensari Bey, head of the Indian Red Crescent Medical Team. He was the first Indian doctor to work at one of #Londonā€™s hospitals.
When the #Ottomans were defeated by the #Bulgarians, a #cholera outbreak spread as well.

The team from (the then) India headed by Dr Muhtar assisted on the front lines, both during the Balkan wars & the cholera outbreak.
The donations by Muslims of the sub-continent were huge where students cut their pocket money & women sold their gold. One of the biggest donation was 185,000 Ottoman liras to the @RedCrescent

reacted against the European and British involvement. Sentiments were high for the Ottomans as the rulers of the holy places. When the call for volunteers was set at the MAO #Aligarh, Peshawari joined in & was sent to #Turkey fr #Bombay in 1912
