i’m so tired of this so here’s a thread of normalized lesbophobia
telling lesbians they’re privileged for not liking men
not necessarily lesbiophobia but wlw and nblw phobia in general
telling a sapphic couple they “look like sisters” or “i thought they were sisters” especially when they look nothing alike and you’re just saying it bc it’s two girls
telling a sapphic couple they “look like sisters” or “i thought they were sisters” especially when they look nothing alike and you’re just saying it bc it’s two girls
being okay with straight girls kissing their girl best friend but when it’s wlw it’s “gross
ACTING LIKE LESBIANS CANT DATE MEN BEFORE REALIZING THEIR A LESBIAN
not listening when a lesbian says smth is lesbophobic
lesbian erasure in general (ie. the lesbian flag is not included in almost everything anyone does or the wrong flag is used)
the lack of real lesbian rep in media unless it’s being sexualized
// nsfw
calling it lesbian sex even if it’s not two lesbians but when it’s the cute stuff it’s sapphic or wlw even if it is two lesbians
calling it lesbian sex even if it’s not two lesbians but when it’s the cute stuff it’s sapphic or wlw even if it is two lesbians
acting like lesbians are only women and can’t be nb
the fact that lesbian is a noun but most others can be used as adjectives (for ex. a bisexual woman, a gay man) which makes lesbian feel impersonal because you can’t attach a person to it
generalizing lesbians in general based off something one lesbian said and saying “i hate lesbians”
calling people out for biphobia, panphobia, homophobia, etc. but not calling people out for lesbophobia
making lesbians feel the need to keep their experiences to themselves simply bc they don’t like men
acting like a lesbian can’t find a man attractive when comp het is a thing and isn’t internalized biphobia it’s a lesbian experience
non lesbians making fun of lesbians (like saying hey mamas when you see a masc lesbian )
seeing a masc lesbian and immediately assuming they’re the “guy in the relationship”
general homophobia
the term guy and girl in a relationship because not every relationship has a guy and a girl
the term guy and girl in a relationship because not every relationship has a guy and a girl
saying comp het isn’t a lesbian exclusive, comp het is a lesbian exclusive while heteronormativity is not and is what everyone experiences
saying “i wish i was a lesbian, guys suck”
acting like the lesbian masterdoc is a bad thing bc being a lesbian is a bad thing
non lesbians acting like they have a say in lesbian business (ex. nb lesbians and he/him lesbians)
pls tell me if you have more and i probably worded some of these wrong i’m sorry
OH the fact that lesbian is used in a derogatory way and sexualized to the point that many lesbians don’t feel comfortable labeling themselves with it
lesbians follow me
