At some point over the next week I'll be recording a video detailing what's going to happen when the channel dies, I'll be posting the key details here to use as a basis for the video itself and for posterity.
First of all, the channel is doing fine. However, I'm keenly aware that YouTube is a finite way to make money so it makes sense to have a plan for when it shits the bed.
Annoyingly due to the nature of YouTube, there's no real way to know *when* that's going to happen.

That said, it is possible to tell when the channel stops growing, at which point I will speak with my editors and tell them that we'll stop making videos in 6 months. An amount of time I feel is enough for everyone, myself included, to secure other forms of income.
Around this time I will also record a video announcing the fact that production of regular videos will cease in 6 months and reactivating the Fact Fiend Patreon for anyone who wants to support our future endeavours.
Any money the Patreon makes in that 6 months will be split evenly between us all.
I'll also continue to accept sponsorships that fit our established criteria during this time, with the money similarly being split between everyone.

In addition, I'll be setting aside a day per week on the for content produced by the editors to advertise their own projects outside of the channel and help them grow and establish an audience for when the 6 months is up.
At the end of the 6 months I'll be giving each of my editors an even share of whatever is left in the Big Wangers coffers as seed money for their own projects or to simply to take time off.
As for the channel, the idea is to leave the archives intact, where I expect them to continue earning revenue for at least a few years, whilst occasionally making random videos as and when I feel inspired to do so.
For anyone wondering why the plan is to up and stop making videos instead of trying to go in a new direction or something, I've seen too many channels try that and fail or it come across as desperate. I don't want that.
I also don't want to be in a situation where I can't pay my editors, all of whom are friends, a fair wage for their time.
I'd rather end the channel on my own terms and take full advantage of the audiences and goodwill we've built up to set everyone up for the future.

Either way, this won't be for a while but I wanted to have this out there for anyone who's curious about the channel's (hopefully distant) future.
