Is there an online tool where you can upload a profile photo to evaluate whether is was likely generated by a GAN? If not, someone should make one.
To take this further, @GoogleAI could build this into the Chrome browser. A UX like the web page translation pop-up would work. Imagine @googlechrome showing warnings when you view a GAN generated profile on LinkedIn or Twitter, in Gmail, or on a scam website.
Thanks to the paper & code in the reply to my tweet from @databoydg I was able test a few images I found suspicious: https://twitter.com/databoydg/status/1349829035732320256?s=20

Here's what I found...
As an example, something about this website seems a bit... "off":
I ran the profile pics of their executive team through the GAN detection code from Sheng-Yu Wang & team at @berkeley_ai https://peterwang512.github.io/CNNDetection/
Here's "Charles Levy, Chief Executive Officer":

probability of being synthetic: 14.24%
"Mariah Lowe, Chief Financial Officer"

probability of being synthetic: 12.39%
"Andrew Hewitt, Head of Strategic Communications"

probability of being synthetic: 51.64%
