With cases rising across the country, and lockdowns happening in several places, I want to be clear: we’re going to continue doing whatever it takes, for as long as it takes, to keep you safe and supported. For a rundown of the help that’s available, check out this thread. 👇
There’s the Canada Recovery Benefit, which is available if you’re directly affected by COVID-19 but are self-employed or don’t quality for Employment Insurance. This benefit will provide you with $500 each week for up to 26 weeks.
There’s the Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit, which is available if you’re not able to work because you’re sick or need to self-isolate due to COVID-19. If you can’t work because you’re taking care of a loved one, the Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit is available for you.
There’s help available for small business owners, too. There’s the Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy, which could cover up to 65% of your rent. If your community is in lockdown, your rent subsidy could be boosted up to 90% with the Lockdown Support.
There’s also the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy available for business owners, if you need help keeping your employees on the payroll. This support has been extended until June. There’s the Canada Emergency Business Account, too, if you need interest-free loans of up to $60,000.
