One..one wonders..
if a music rights management org can make a "mistake" which results in just not paying literally >3 separate artists for work they did individually..
On what grounds would any other artist trust that org with their own work? That's the majority of their job?

This uhhh, unfollowing people who've spoken about it or even just RETWEETED people speaking about it - that just gives me a very Bad Vibe.
I'd considered working with this group, although we've not been in touch.

Like I'm sorry but if you make this kind of goof, which allegedly lasts .. 17 MONTHS, you can expect it to generate a little bit of a buzz among your extended artist network?
Come on.
Don't get petty about it. That's just cringe. Take the licks, explain it, make em whole. Easy.

This is an account which follows nearly fourteen-thousand people, mind you. Unfollowing hand-picked musicians & developers who appear in your mentions for something you'd rather not be spoken about..isn't going to significantly affect your newsfeed really
I get the impression now that there's probably a whole set of people from different projects sitting there just thinking the reason they hadn't been hearing from their rights org/publisher was because their work was just below their attention. https://twitter.com/RobbyDuguay/status/1349828849476005890?s=20
The fact that they've allowed this to become a pattern, of presumptive non-communication & non-delivery of EITHER payments or documentation, for at least half a year in multiple cases, is surprising and disappointing.

CW: sexual abuse, death threats mention
So, look, I mean.
What the hell? How much stuff have they been able to forget about while continuing to operate? https://twitter.com/staffelf/status/1349839643684990976?s=20

I commented to someone a little while ago the fact that I hadn't really heard testimonials from colleagues either pro/con for this org, and that they appeared in many ways to be the De Facto in the room, always made me feel a bit weird.
Anyway, pre-emptive strike

Another case from Danilo. This seems to run up and down the scale to some extent, and isn't really focussed around any particular project or set of projects.
I've no doubt they'll soon cite a policy on only communicating when absolutely necessary, buuut https://twitter.com/DaniloCiaffi/status/1349842213618987008?s=20

Mello's thread which started this little avalanche, for completeness.
If the quoted tweet is gone when you're reading this, then you can take that to mean they resolved the situation at least as far as 2Mello is concerned, and I'd defer to him. https://twitter.com/MelloMakes/status/1349801051524919297

Seeing a pattern forming.
Ok.
So we could accept that ""small"" works don't get VIP attention, although I'd dispute that anyone's output isn't worth an occasional check-in.
Let's separate this from big nonpayments. But it's not -GOOD-, is it? https://twitter.com/DacianGrada/status/1349843633726496775?s=20

If I were dependent on income from this org I would be extremely upset and concerned right now, not least on the question of their liquidity in the face of all these debts, big and small. My heart goes out to the folks this is affecting.
Materia has a new statement in light of the scope here.
If I'm being honest, it's pretty hard to stomach ignorance on this, but I'll leave it up to the stakeholders to adjudicate that for themselves.
!! Artists note the final tweet for making enquiries. !!

There's a degree of shadiness and damage to goodwill here which will actually take a bit more than some robust accounting restructuring, I hope they realise that at HQ.
Masha's case is also particularly troubling, but I don't know any more about that. https://twitter.com/MelloMakes/status/1349857210306863112

As I suspected, there's a non-zero set of people who aren't even aware there's an issue because they've just been left to ASSUME they're not owed anything.
This isn't right, and it goes beyond bad accounting to bad comms & A&R relations policy in general. https://twitter.com/pearlpixel/status/1349873432092168192
