Cool that the NYT, fresh off getting thousands of sex workers demonetized on pornhub, has turned its attention to another online sex work platform. Fuck you @nytimes and fuck you @ncose. You're making our lives worse, and you know *exactly* what you're doing. https://twitter.com/ncose/status/1349747313011552256
I've had plenty of jobs where I've had to "sell my body in order to survive." I worked in a cornfield as a teenager, I worked as a hostess in a restaurant making less than minimum wage, I worked in a bookstore, I worked in a call center. OnlyFans is the best job I've ever had.
My body is *so much less* busted up after an hour shooting content for OnlyFans than it ever was, let's say, after 8+ hours in the hot sun detasseling corn.
If @nytimes and orgs like @ncose are *that* worried about lack of worker protections for online sex workers, they should focus on making sex work both legal and destigmatized so that we don't need to rely on capitalism to provide platforms that are ashamed to host us
If not for laws like SESTA/FOSTA, we wouldn't have to use sites like onlyfans - we could charge customers using normal payment processors instead of relying on a company to deal with the extremely arcane and punishing bullshit surrounding "high risk payments."
