Let's assume just for the sake of argument someone who's truly "woke" is the kind of person who favors 1) reparations; 2) tearing down Confederate statues; 3) defunding police; and 4) INSISTS on discussing racial issues.

Below are 4 statements Americans could indicate agreement with. Scores are 0-4 & adding them together in a "wokeness scale" (cringe) makes a scale from 0-16. Alpha is .88 so the questions hang together. I also divide this into quartiles like @ndrewwhitehead do for CN ... 3/
Now, again, just for argument's sake, let's assume that Americans who score in the top quartile are the "truly woke." Sorta like our "Ambassador" category for #ChristianNationalism, except these are "ambassadors of wokenesss."

Here's the answer: Largest % are Black Protestants & Seculars, followed by non-Christian religious groups & liberal (non-born-again) Protestants.
White Evangelicals? 5.3% (If you're curious only 17% of WEs fall above the average on the scale, meaning 83% reject wokeness.) 5/

So what's this mean for Christian leaders who fear rampant "wokeness" in the evangelical church?
My recommendation: If woke evangelicals bother you, you could probably talk to each of them personally. Maybe hold a conference in a large Starbucks.

Well over one half (56%) of WEs score in the top quartile on our CN scale.
So if I were worried about a noxious ideology pervading the evangelical church, it'd be CN, not wokeness. 7/7
