I can't find the article but in an interview back then Kit Harrington said Danaerys/ Emilia was always the #1. That's why all her scenes were always left for the end. Because nobady could go after her.
Just like that many other members of the cast like Nathalie Emmanuel or Jacob Anderson have always praised not only Emilia but Daenerys as a Character for what she represents.
Also GRRM, Daenerys' creator, he has always been veey defensive about her and what people think about her. And considering all of his work besides ASOIAF has been Targaryen related I'd say her being a favorite of his is an understatement
