The draft. Bears could trade up to snag whoever is available of Fields, Wilson or Lance. Yes this would cost draft capital. Or Snag Jones at 20 or Newman or Trask in the 2nd. I’m also drafting a tackle very high. 1st or 2nd. T class is deep

Cap situation
Older declining vets with little to no dead cap money should be cut. This includes Massie, Hicks, Skrine and Graham.
Quinn, Foles and Trevathan’s dead caps are too high to cut. Someone will still miss this caveat. I won’t mention it again

Restructures
Guys I would consider borrowing from - Mack, Whitehair & possibly Jackson. Everyone is down on E Jax but he’s gonna be a Bear a while and can’t be cut without a HUGE dead cap. Won’t mention this again...

A Rob
I’m tagging A Rob whether he likes it or not. Then I’m working on an extension. If he leaves after the tag that’s cool. But this year he stays

I also bring Gipson back on a modest 1 year deal to have stability with E Jax.
Shelly and Vildor will compete for NCB with Skrine gone. I re-sign some combo of RRH, Urban or Edwards with Hicks gone

I bring back Mingo and C Patt. For special teams and depth. Good locker room guys as well
Also Burns, the CFL guy from IR, Tabor and have them battle for CB depth. I would also add a late round pick. At both safety and CB. I’m also drafting a developmental EDGE

I would not spend big in FA unless it’s for a tackle, speed WR or an upgrade at U-TE. If I can’t get a top tier WR i’d add a mid tier WR to push Miller and create depth. If I can’t get a top tier U I’m signing a mid tier TE2. Kmet is my TE1.

As far as D coordinator. I’d promote from within. Someone who knows the system. Knows the players and is smart and aggressive. (Rodger or Townsend)
Bottom line is this can be fixed. Let’s see if they can do it. If not fire all of their asses into the sun #DaBears
